Why Children's Hospital of Philadelphia Matters to Us

My name is Mark Giannone, owner of C-JAM Construction. I was born in 1992 with Tetralogy of Fallot, a serious congenital heart defect that, at the time, came with a lot of uncertainty. Just days before I was supposed to be sent home from the hospital, I was transported to CHOP, where I underwent life-saving reconstructive heart surgery.
Over the years, I’ve returned to CHOP for multiple procedures and follow-ups. I know what it’s like to be a kid in a hospital bed — the fear, the confusion, and the weight it puts on your parents when they don’t know what comes next.
Decks for CHOP is personal. As C-JAM grows, this is our way of giving back to the place that gave me a future — and helping make the experience a little easier for other families going through it.

Giving back as we grow
Decks for CHOP is built around a simple idea: the more we grow, the more we give. As C-JAM Construction completes more projects each year, our total contributions increase alongside them. This allows us to give back in a way that’s sustainable, consistent, and meaningful over time.
Our goal is to build great decks, take care of our clients, and support families at CHOP in a way that grows naturally with our business — one project at a time.
Transparency Matters
We believe trust is built through clarity. Contributions through the Decks for CHOP program are tracked internally and donated throughout the year based on completed deck projects. While total annual donations will vary depending on project volume, the commitment itself does not change.
Decks for CHOP is designed to be responsible and sustainable — ensuring we can continue supporting CHOP year after year as our business grows.
C-JAM Construction is not formally affiliated with Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. Donations are made independently in support of their mission.
